Unit Clerk (Behavioral Health)

The UNIT CLERK (BEHAVIORAL HEALTH) is responsible for performing a variety of clerical duties related the updating and organizing of information on the nursing units. The duties of the UNIT Clerk include, but are not limited to:

  • Data Entry
  • Transcribing, transmitting and placing physician orders to appropriate areas (under the direction of a Registered Nurse)
  • Answering telephones - interacting with patients, families, visitors, physicians and staff
  • Assisting with the patient admission process
  • Ordering supplies


The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • One (1) years clinical experience as a Unit Clerk or similar position. Hospital experience preferred
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organization skills required
  • Above average computers skills
