Veterinary Surgeon
Job Description
Veterinary Surgeon - Virginia Veterinary Centers | Fredericksburg, VA
At Virginia Veterinary Centers (VVC) - Fredericksburg, we're looking for a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Surgeon to step into a well-established service within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary specialty and emergency hospital.
This is a rare opportunity to take over an existing caseload in a hospital that provides comprehensive specialty and emergency care, including critical care, diagnostic imaging, and emergency services, all under one roof!
Why Fredericksburg?
- Fredericksburg offers something that's getting harder to find; space, history, and accessibility without sacrificing lifestyle.
- Located halfway between Washington, D.C. and Richmond
- A charming historic downtown with restaurants, shops, and waterfront views
- Easy access to outdoor recreation along the Rappahannock River
- More affordable living and less congestion than major metro areas
- A true "best of both worlds" lifestyle-city access, small-town feel
About the Hospital
VVC Fredericksburg is a well-supported specialty and emergency center with a strong reputation in the region. The team is known for delivering compassionate, high-quality care and working collaboratively across services.
You'll be stepping into:
- An established surgery service with referral demand
- A hospital equipped to support advanced procedures and case management
- A collaborative environment with experienced ER and critical care support
What Makes This Role Stand Out
This is an opportunity to step into a ready-made service while still having the autonomy to shape and grow it in your own way.
You'll have the support of a strong hospital infrastructure, paired with the flexibility to:
- Build on an existing caseload
- Develop your clinical interests
- Influence the direction of the surgery service
And because every candidate's priorities are different, we're open to getting creative with the offer.
If you're looking for a role where you can walk into immediate impact, grow a service, and enjoy a more balanced lifestyle, we'd love to talk. Send your CV to Talent Acquisition Partner Amanda Schultz ([click to reveal email address]) to get the conversation started!
