The VP of Brand Strategy is both a proactive and responsive leader, a highly collaborative member of the enterprise Marketing team who helps inform and drive large-scale projects with cross-functional teams to advance UnitedHealth Group brand initiatives. You will apply strategic, analytical and creative thinking to solve challenging brand issues on a daily basis. You will be leading efforts on a range of brand topics (e.g., positioning, brand architecture, naming, and customer experience). You will have responsibilities for clear and compelling evaluations of market situations and context, in partnerships with insights resources. You will be viewed an expert on research findings and implications, with the team looking to you for ideas on solutions and recommended territories. You will have the opportunity to shape the perception of existing and new brands, driving changes in the global marketplace.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction that will contribute toward increased business and stronger marketing strategies
  • Develop cohesive, compelling strategic visions that guide their overall brand and business plans
  • Brand positioning development and creative insight resulting in communications and experiences that resonate with target audiences
  • Analyzing research (secondary, qualitative and quantitative), analytics and trend analysis
  • Analysis of a wide range of information in detail to gain a comprehensive context to go to market strategies; inclusive of legal considerations
  • Learning the background to the brand and advising on possible approaches or adaptation of approach to the target market
  • Presenting conclusions, recommendations and ideas to senior leaders and stakeholders
  • Collaborate, build consensus, and influence change to drive results in a fast paced environment
  • Create immersive story-telling experiences in written and visual forms to drive new business development initiatives
  • Providing the creative team with a clearly defined brief that contains concise information on the audience and strategy enabling them to develop creative ideas that may be applied to a variety of channels that will promote the idea most effectively
  • Overall, the successful candidate will be curious, courageous, and creative in their approach to problem solving



Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 15+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience translating research and analytics to actionable insights
  • Business and negotiation experience
  • Understanding of traditional, as well as modern primary research methods
  • Able to travel both domestic and internationally as necessary


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working for a national, fortune 500 brands
  • Outstanding morale and team-building experience
