Job Description:
Dermatology practice, centrally located in Brooklyn Heights, is seeking a dynamic full-time receptionist. As the first contact person, you must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A friendly, warm and positive demeanor is mandatory as we strive to provide all patients with a pleasant and efficient experience. Other key qualities include: being reliable, honest, detail oriented, well organized, a quick learner, and having sharp time management and problem solving skills. Required Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentTwo year minimum experience in a medical practiceAbove average computer skills – all work is done on the electronic health record or practice management system. Experience with EMA and/or AdvancedMD is a plus.Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Word and ExcelBasic medical billing knowledgeUnderstanding of HIPPA compliance lawsTeam player – this is a “no drama” office where everyone works hard to get the job done Responsibilities include:Multitask front desk tasks including answering phone, scheduling patients and checking in/out patients.Check-in patients quickly and accurately. The office runs on-time and the receptionist is the key player.Prepare for upcoming patients including insurance verification, reminder calls, and obtaining referrals or doctors’ notes.Discuss services, products and fees with prospective patientsBasic medical billing needs including collecting co-pay and balances, assisting with sending statements/receiptsScan paper documents into appropriate management systemOrder and maintain office suppliesMaintain practice email. Ability to maintain social media sites is a plus.
